My name is Lilyana, I grew up in a very small town in Jalisco, Mexico. My mom owned and ran a grocery store while my dad had a business in Guadalajara, Jalisco. His business required him to be away from home on weekdays and come home on weekends.
Growing up my older sister and I helped my mom in the store. Over the years, her business went from being a small corner store to a community mini market. We sold a wide variety of products so we became the go-to place for everyone in town. My sister and I spent most of our childhood in that store and because of that, I learned what it took to run a successful small business.
At the young age of 16, I left home and went to California where I finished high school. After graduation, I returned to Guadalajara, MX, where I worked with my dad while I attended college until I was 21. Like many young adults, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life, but I knew I wanted to have my own business. I ended up moving to Las Vegas before I could finish my degree.
After a few fails I finally came across an opportunity and jumped right in. It was because of Covid-19 that I got laid off from my casino job so decided to take a leap of faith and start this business. I went to Mexico with my savings and bought a variety of products. When I returned to Las Vegas, I started selling locally. A few months later a couple I met advised me to sell online and once I did, I knew that was the best way to make my business grow. This also allowed me to provide these beautiful products to people across the country. It has been a wild ride, but I have to say that I’ve loved every single second of it. My favorite part is that I get to show people my culture and share all the beautiful art that we have in Mexico through my products.
